harts4u
My name is Guido La Croix and I’m 42 years old. I started painting early 2009, with ‘hearts’ as the basic theme. I paint these hearts in acrylic paint on canvas, in varying sizes. In addition, I use natural materials like rope, branches, seashells, emptied paint-tubes and anything else at hand, in order to create a heart on canvas. All paintings are ‘signed’ with a selected miniature gimmick, which may be a silk rose, a clothes pin, a seashell or whatever else I come across and consider fitting as an adornment. Each painting has its own title, which I only conceive upon handing over the painting to its new owner. In this way, the painting always contains a personal message to its recipient, in addition to my own signature, of course. The reason why I began to paint hearts is to express my inner feelings and emotions. I thoroughly enjoy starting off with a virginal canvas and experience the creation of a new painting. At times it may take as much as a few days to create a painting, but it may also happen that I finish a painting in just one evening. My creative process depends upon my feelings and the circumstances, it should obviously not be a ‘must’ to be painting. In the meantime I have given a few of my paintings as a present to persons near and dear to me, as well as to people who have helped me to do what I am doing now. I have also sold paintings, personalizing each creation to generate something truly complete. In short, the reactions to my paintings have been very enthusiastic and after all: a heart does appeal to everyone! This website’s name is my own idea, meant to be straightforward. It is intended as a modern-day deformity of the Dutch language, which is really ‘my kind of thing’. Obviously, ‘hearts’ would have been the correct spelling, but ‘harts’ is an international extension of this deformity. And ‘4u’ is quite common in today’s text-messaging lingo, which resulted in my website’s name harts4u.
I thank everyone who has visited my website and has taken the time to read this message.
Kind regards, Guido La Croix
